The Angelicum University Fund, Inc. of the U.S.A.

William E. Simon Scholarship Fund

is accepting sholarship requests for the academic year 2006–2007

The William E. Simon Scholarship Fund is established to provide financial assistance for academically highly qualified students of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas who live in Rome and who would otherwise lack the resources to cover their educational expenses.

Each scholarship award provides no more than 40 percent of the total annual expense of tuition, room, board, and related fees and expenses. The remaining costs may be covered through a combination of other forms of aid, personal savings and earnings from part-time work.

The William E. Simon Scholarship Fund will strive to use at least 50 percent of the annual amount allocated for scholarships for lay students of the Angelicum.

Students selected as Simon Scholars should demonstrate by documents submitted with their request

  1. their strong academic qualifications and
  2. sound moral character, along with
  3. financial need.

Simon Scholarships shall be renewable from year to year so long as the recipients continue to make normal academic progress.

Applications should be addressed to William E. Simon Scholarship Fund and should include:

  • A personal letter of request
  • Curriculum vitae
  • 2 photos (at least passport quality)
  • Current and immediately previous academic transcripts (for the exams in Angelicum, just ask the Secretariat to print the list of results)
  • Indication of financial need
  • Address and telephone number in Rome

Applications will be accepted at the Secretariat Office of the Angelicum until 31 October 2006.

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

NB The documentation submitted with the request cannot be returned to the students.
