The Influence of Contemporary Philosophy in Theology

A survey course outlining the various ways in which contemporary philosophical questions have an impact on the work of theologians.

The course considers the impact in particular of phenomenology, linguistic analysis, historicism and process thought, trascendental Thomism, Eastern religious thought, and Marxism. An attempt is made to arrive at some conclusions concerning the role which philosophy can play in theological discourse.
