The impact of scholastic philosophy on the original Protestant mindset and its contemporary consequences
Some scholastic debates influenced the first Reformers, in spite of their intention to establish a "purely biblical" theology. Some thomistic solutions to medieval philosophical questions might help to understand contemporary differences between Catholic and Protestant theologies. In the course, the meaning of "dialogue" in different fields will also be analyzed.
The course will start during the second week of the semester.
