Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence II

This course will be in English. Part I of this course covered the concept of the Turing machine and the philosophical discussion about artificial intelligence from the early 1950's to the early 1980's. In this part, Part II, there will be an introduction to some other elementary computational concepts, followed by a coverage of the more recent philosophical discussion. Students who only take part II of the course are invited to acquaint themselves with the elements of the concept of the Turing machine, using for example the rather accessible text in chapter 2 of Joseph Weizenbaum, Computer Power and Human Reason : From Judgement to Calculation (London: Penguin, 1987).
